Traditionally, the coastal towns have welcomed all comers. Iberians,
Romans, Arabians and Feudal lords have left their mark in the history
of Calafell, Segur de Calafell and Cunit.
All these influences are found in the roots of villages culture. Culture
formed from a soft and hot climate that creates tolerance and which
has made this part of the world a good place to live, to work , to visit
and to enjoy.

CALAFELL is placed in a region of Tarragona called Baix Penedès.
It's situated in a privileged geographical zone at 60 km from Barcelona
and at 31 km from Tarragona.
The municipality is formed by 3 principal villages (Calafell Town,
the Beach of Calafell and Segur de Calafell) and about twenty urban
units. Its main attractions are a varied gastronomy and
a wide offer of leisure and traditional holidays.
Calafell has a wide choice of lodgings
to help visitors' accomodation.
All the beaches of the town spread out more than 5 km of
length and its coastal promenade it's now considered the longest
in the littoral.
The climate is normally mild: in winter the average
temperatures go from 6 degrees minimum to 15 degrees maximum; in
summer, they go from 20 degrees minimum to 30 degrees maximum. |
